Summer Expressions- Journal Cover Art & Creative Writing Workshop
Join artist Bethany Neck(Master of Contemporary Art) & Rachael Mead (Journalist /Author) to paint your own unique Journal Cover, using the journal for creative writing, in our combined workshop. A 5 hr workshop on Saturday February 8th 2025 10- 3.00pm @ The Summit Community Centre (Norton Summit)

About the event
Painting a Journal Cover 10-12 noon
All art & journal materials are provided. Each participant will reflect on Summer events, people or aspects of life that bring them joy!
We'll use pattern, watercolours and images eg. local birds, flowers, fruits etc to symbolize joyous aspects of our life and design a unique, creative journal cover for creative writing
Each participant may bring their own meaningful images or patterns to incorporate into their design, if they wish. eg. photos of cultural events, special activies eg sailing, or pics of beautiful garden flowers & fruits.
The cover will be glued onto a writing journal, which will be used for the creative writing aspect of the workshop.
Your design can be used for other art projects. For example, Bethany's 'Platters of Joy' painting on ceramic plates.
